I’m a creature of habit, and my work wardrobe is no exception; I tend to find myself gravitating toward the same few outfits in slightly different variations time and time again. Here’s one of my favourites.
As a nanny, I need to be able to move around easily, to crouch down, to battle all the make-believe monsters, to run around after a 5 year old and her puppy. This is why I’m a huge fan of wearing sports leggings, more specifically these super-soft black ones from Sweaty Betty, almost every time I’m working.
I tend to keep my outfits fairly neutral in terms of colours, opting for black, greys, navy, white, and some beige most of the time. Over the past few months, I’ve been reaching for this grey open-back sweater from Sweaty Betty (find their white and navy versions here as I can’t find the grey one) which I love to team with this tank from Organic Basics.
Shoe-wise, I tend to opt for trainers as the family doesn’t wear shoes in the house so I can just slip them on and off easily (similar here, mine are about 3 years old). However, in the event that I want to wear something a little nicer, I often (and especially as it starts to get warmer here in the UK) grab a pair of neutral slide sandals (similar here, mine are old TKMaxx).
My accessories are pretty simple, too. Five year olds and their dogs honestly don’t care how put together you look. I’ve got a dainty moonstone ring and a rose-quartz necklace that I wear most days, and a pair of gold-circular studs that I’ll pop in if I remember before heading out. If I’m really going for it, I’ll pop on a lightweight scarf (similar here, mine was an old Christmas gift), which is perfect for keeping me warm while I watch the girl and her dog run around in the garden.
Do you have any go-to outfits for work?
P.s. I hope you like my backdrop of stuffed animals…
