While I was visiting my friend in the South early last month, we decided to take a weekend trip to Mobile, AL. Here’s the best stuff that we found while we were there.
Spot of Tea – just go to this place, seriously. Their bananas foster French toast and strawberry sweetened ice-tea is to die for. Sit indoors or outside for a bit of people watching. Affordable, centrally located, and so, so, good.
Braided River Brewing Company – a sustainable, eco-conscious, craft beer brewer with such a good atmosphere. If you get the chance to go before summer is over (after lockdowns are lifted, obviously), definitely try their Tropical Sour, Summer Crush. I’m not a beer (or alcohol) person at all, but it was unbelievably good.
Street Art – Downtown Mobile offers some serious street art. Go for a wander and see what you can find!
Fairhope – not even an hour from Mobile, you’ll find the town of Fairhope, a quaint seaside town that’s definitely worth a visit. Trek along the pier, check out the French quarter.
Red or White; Wine and Gourmet Center – we visited the Fairhope store to nibble some chocolate with a glass of wine. Good times, indeed.
Refuge Coffee – potentially the best coffee I found during my 10 days in the South, and truly worth the fairly hefty price tag.
Gulf Shores – go and dip your little toes in the nice, warm, Gulf. There are so many things to do there if just chilling on the beach isn’t your idea of a good time, and plenty of great restaurants, too.
Have you visited Mobile? Where’s your favourite place there?
