Just after the New Year, my friend and I decided to take a trip to Venice, Italy. This had been planned for a few months & my friend had found an insane deal of flights (to and from Venice from London) and 4 nights in a four-star hotel for just £180 each – it would have been silly for us not to have taken it up!
We stayed in a hotel slightly off the beaten path – possibly the most luxurious and extravagant hotel I’ve ever been in (although my experience is limited..!). 4 and a bit days seemed to be the perfect amount of time for the two of us to explore and see all of the main sights the city has to offer. We’re both pretty early risers, so we could easily be out of the hotel by 9am if we wanted. Across the 4 days, we explored the islands of Murano and Burano, visited St Mark’s cathedral, went up the Campanile di San Marco, visited the Doge’s Palace (& got my geek on big time..!), saw the Bridge of Sighs, and took a boat trip down the Grand Canal, as well as eating some epic food. I’ve got more detailed posts on all of these coming over the next week or two, so keep your eyes peeled for them!
